Susan was born July 11th, 1949, in Ft. William Ontario. She met and married the love of her life Chuck in July of 1967 and soon they started their family. She was an amazing wife and mother, raising us to be happy, respectful and to live life to its fullest. Susan would often be found writing poems or letters for special occasions which touched all of us. Susan loved a game of cards spending quality time with family and friends over a cup of tea. She cherished these times as well as the weekly get togethers at her favorite restaurant.
Susan worked for many years at Lakehead Wholesalers and then for Loudon Bros. (Gleeson Family) where she retired as the buyer in 2014. She met and worked with many and became lifelong friends with her card group Jackie, June, Mary, and dance group Slightly Off Broadway, Connie, Jaclyn and dear friend Carolyn.
Susan and Chuck were always traveling to the USA going to various racetracks, outlets malls and her favorite casinos. It was on these trips that she would meet up with her good friends Shirley and Mert. They had a special bond and shared so many laughs over the years.
Susan spent the last 7 months in St Joe’s Hospice where she bravely battled cancer and heart disease. Susan was grateful to the many visits she had with her family and friends. During her time at St. Joe’s, she leaned on her faith and was thankful for the conversations she had with Father James of St Agnes Parish. Also, Thank you to Sarah (Spiritual Care St. Joe’s) and Volunteer Jeanne.
Special thank you to her family Doctor, Dr. Slivchak, Cancer Doctors at TBRHSC, Dr Ward, Dr Migay and the many nurses and wonderful staff at St. Joe’s who provided Susan with care and compassion.
If friends desire they may make a donation to St Agnes Parish, Humane Society, or the Cancer Society.
A small gathering with close family and friends will take place at a later date.
Susan’s smile and sense of humor will be dearly missed but the memories and life she lived will never be forgotten. We love you, Mom.
