It is with great sadness that the family of Teresa Deleo, also known to many as Tita, age 74 announces her passing on Thursday September 10th 2015, in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center with her family by her side.

Teresa was born on November 11th 1940, in Siderno Marina Italy. Moving to Fort William in 1965, to join her husband Vincenzo, together with him they raised their five children.

Teresa enjoyed life to the fullest and touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her strength, kindness and big heart showed in everything she did. As a member of the St. Dominic’s CWL she spent many wonderful years with the church volunteering for different charities, preparing lunch-ins, cleaning the church, and singing in the choir. She travelled to numerous religious pilgrimages all over the world, cherishing all the friends and new people she met along the way.

Teresa was a true example of spiritual faith. She was very committed to her Wednesday night prayer group, which gave her great joy and comfort. The most important and greatest accomplishment to Teresa was her family; they meant the absolute world to her. Her house was always filled with the laughter of children, whether it was her own, her grandchildren or the numerous children she looked after. She enjoyed planning many family gatherings, dinners, special occasions, or everyone coming together for coffee.

She would be in the kitchen cooking up a storm to feed the whole neighbourhood and putting together one of her famous cherry cheesecakes.

Teresa will be greatly missed, loved and always remembered. She is survived by her son Frank Deleo, her daughters; Santina (Leon) Giardino, Lucy (Danny) Filice, Grace (Allen) Ukrainec and Albina (Dave) Grassia, Grandchildren; Lucas, Alex, Samuel Giardino, Katelyn, Olivia Filice, Maxwell, Vincent, Emily Ukrainec, Elizabeth, Benjamin and Cassandra Grassia, Sister; Esterina (Vincenzo) Calabrase, brothers; Cosimo (Rosa) Etreni, Rocco (Rosetta) Etreni, Brother-in-laws; Antoino Tarzia, Domenico Pasqualino (Italy), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive in Canada and Italy.  Predeceased by, her husband; Vincenzo Deleo, her Father and Mother; Alfredo and Francesca Etreni, Brother; Giuseppe Etreni, Sisters; Rosina Tarzia, Albina Pasqualino, Father-in-law and Mother-in-law; Francesco and Immacolata Deleo, Brother and Sister-in-laws; Angelina (Cosimo) Fimognari, Domienco (Gulia) Deleo, Cosimo (Sbrendina) Deleo, Maria (Francesco) Commisso, Rosa (Giuseppe) Figliomeni and Gerolama Deleo.
