Mr. Theodore Harry Tait, age 59 years, passed away peacefully in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, November 12, 2022 with his family by his side.

Theodore was born in Sioux Lookout on February 11, 1963, to Jonah and Sarah Jane Tait. He met Maida Anderson and they were married on June 28, 1984. Theodore worked for many years as an Education Councillor at Martin McKay Memorial School in Sachigo Lake First Nation. He was proud of his job and truly enjoyed working with the kids and coworkers. Theodore loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting as well as hockey, which he played well into his 40's. Above all else, family was Theodore's greatest passion and he was happiest when surrounded by loved ones, especially his grandchildren. He was a dedicated and hardworking husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, and will be truly missed by all.

Theodore is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Maida Tait (nee Anderson); his children Jonah (Pamela), Cameron and Trevor (Kara); grandchildren Keisha, Patrisha, Amiya, Ian, Katie, McKayla, Nishawn, Neevah, Scarlet and Lee; siblings Louis (Rosemary), Allan (Mary), Charlie (Telona), Steven (Shirley), Samuel (Mary Jane), Edna Beardy (Alvin), Jabbin (Donna), Ellen (Clifford McKay) and Pauline Mickelson (Ed). He is also survived by his mother-in-law Christine Ostamus; siblings-in-law Belina Anderson, Eno Anderson (Rhoda), Roy Anderson (Delilah), Roger Anderson (Rose), Romeo Anderson (Judy) and Lillian Anderson (Perry); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Krista; his parents Jonah and Sarah Jane Tait; brother Jack (Irene) Tait; father-in-law Cameron Anderson and brother-in-law Gilbert.

Viewing and a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 4:00pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James, officiated by Rev. Ophelia Kamenawatamin. Theodore will then be transported to Sioux Lookout Funeral Home, where visitation will continue on Wednesday afternoon. Final services will be held at St. Clement Anglican Church in Sachigo Lake First Nation on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 1:00pm, officiated by Rev. Morris Fidler. Burial will follow in the community Cemetery.
