It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tom Richards, a devoted husband, father, and friend, who passed away peacefully at the age of 63.
Tom had an appreciation for the simple things in life; time spent with family, a good cup of coffee, walking Finn, and last but especially not least, a Bruins game on TV.
He was the beloved husband of Laura, and a proud, supportive father to their children Dana and Darcy. His love for his family was deep and enduring, and he found great joy in spending time and joking around with his nieces and nephews.
A lifelong sports fan, Tom had a special place in his heart for the Boston Bruins, this can be proven in his dedicated hockey room. Whether watching a game at home or talking stats with family, cheering for the Bruins was a passion that brought him joy.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Laura, his children Dana (Devon) and Darcy (Sean), as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was predeceased by his loving mother Rose, father Thomas, and both brother and friend Raymond.
The family would like to thank the caring staff on 2B at TBRHSC for their kindness and support.
Per Tom’s request, there will be no memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory may be made to the Thunder Bay Humane Society.
Though Tom is no longer with us, his love, his steady presence, and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him.
Go Bruins!
