It is with profound and heartfelt sadness that we announce Todd's passing on Wednesday, October 26th, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of Jodie, loving father of Makensie; dear son of Barb & Bruce Murray; caring brother of Carole (and uncle to her children Lucas, Logan and Lachlan); and cherished grandson of Joan Walker. Todd will also be deeply missed by parents-in-law Marvin & Gisele Maunula, siblings-in-law Michelle (Mark), Karen (Jeff) and Ryan (Jackie); his aunts and uncles Sally (David), Bill (Matilda), Doug (Pam), Nancy (Grahame), Gail (Barry); and by his nieces and nephews Brittany, Tanner, Mallory, Charlotte, Lily, Scott and Kelsey; and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather Jim Walker, grandparents Evelyn and Tom Murray, and his uncle Jamie Walker.
Todd was born September 14, 1973 in Thunder Bay. He attended Isabella Elementary School and Fort William Collegiate Institute where he was actively involved in football and basketball. Todd graduated from Lakehead University with a Honours Bachelor of History and later from the Faculty of Education. It was during these years that many lifelong friendships evolved. His friends considered him to be one of a kind.
Todd worked in heavy equipment for over twenty years. During this time he proved to be a dedicated and invaluable employee. He was well respected throughout the industry. His brilliant personality allowed him to develop long lasting relationships with many customers who he also considered to be close friends. Most recently, Todd started with Hub Equipment as a rental manager which was a position he loved. He quickly became a part of their family.
In 1999, Todd married his soulmate Jodie who he just adored. In January 2002, they welcomed their precious daughter Makensie who was the absolute light of his life.
In the summer, Todd loved spending time out at Amethyst Harbour with his family. It was his happy place. At home, his cabana and pool were his backyard oasis. He loved entertaining friends and family and was always offering to host so he could show off his culinary skills.
Todd was loved by everyone. He was very generous and thoughtful. He always put others before himself. When Todd walked into a room you couldn't help but notice. Todd's friend described him perfectly, “He was such a massive guy in every way, size, heart, personality and, of course, a voice that could knock down trees.”
There are no words to express how much Todd will be missed. He was loved dearly by so many.
The family would like to thank the ICU and Palliative Care staff at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the Norwester Hotel and Conference Centre from 1-3 pm. Reflections will begin at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in Todd's honour to Our Hearts at Home Cardiovascular Campaign at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre or a Charity of Your Choice.
