Mrs. Tonia Patraniuk, age 100 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in Hogarth Riverview Manor, on Tuesday, November 20, 2018.
Tonia was born in Fort William. She loved singing and was a long-time member of the Fort William Prosvita Choir as well as the choir at Church of the Holy Cross where she was an active member.
She was also talented at Ukrainian embroidery and writing Easter eggs. Tonia is survived by her daughter Tonia Prokopchuk, grandchildren Kathleen Patraniuk; Ernie, wife Brenda; Stephen, wife Lorinda; and Anthony Prokopchuk and great-grandchildren Evan and Michael Prokopchuk. She was predeceased by her parents, infant son William, sisters Sophie Bohonis and Olga Struchynski, husband Peter, and son Peter A. Patraniuk.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 when family and friends will gather for Liturgy in the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Holy Cross at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Very Rev. Stepan Didur.
Interment will follow at Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery on Arthur Street. Panachyda will be offered on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Blake Funeral Chapel.
