We are heartbroken to announce that Trina Annette “Jidamoe” MacLaurin, passed away peacefully at TBRHSC on Friday, December 22, 2023, after a very sudden decline in her health (lengthy illness).
She was a beautiful person inside and out. She considered everyone she met family. Her giggle could light up any gloomy day. She cared deeply for everyone who entered her life and made sure that they knew she loved them.
Trina had 2 gorgeous baby girls, Gabrielle and Catarina, who she loved with everything she had. It devastated her when she made a choice to give them a life she could not, away from her care. But she made this decision out of pure love for them. Although they were not with her, Trina held them closely in her heart, soul, and mind daily.
Trina is lovingly remembered by her grandfather, who she called dad, Dennis MacLaurin, her mother Virginia Rose MacLaurin, her sisters Missy Bess and Victoria aka Butter. Her friend and roommate Gord and her numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Predeceased by her great grandfather Barney Dennis MacLaurin, her great grandmother Virginia J. MacLaurin, who raised her, grandmother Maureen MacLaurin nee Bannon, her uncles Wesley MacLaurin, Micheal “Mikey” MacLaurin and Wayne Bannon.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 11:00 am in St. Anne’s Church. Visitation will take place at St. Anne’s Church on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 6:00 pm with prayers offered at 7:00pm. Interment will be at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
