It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our much beloved and adored husband, father, Nonno, and great Nonno, Ugo Gazzola on Saturday, September 17th2016 following a brief illness.

Ugo was born December 24th, 1933 in Fonte Alto, Trevizo Italy. He immigrated to Canada on March 16th, 1955, where he worked  for B&B Stone and mastered his trade as a mason on various residential, commercial and industrial projects before starting his own company that he loved and cherished, Superior Masonry.

Ugo married the love of his life Iole on October 30th, 1958, together they raised a family of three children and had many years of love, joy, and cherished memories with his family and close friends.

He was a member of St. Dominic’s R.C.Church. He was an avid gardener and took pride showing his garden and greenhouse.

Ugo will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his children; Annie Manryk, Josie (Shaun) Daniels, Joseph (Lillian) Gazzola, grandchildren; Stephanie (Jeff) Barber, Jeffrey Manryk, Kristyn Manryk, Amanda Daniels, Joshua Daniels, Matthew Gazzola, Jessica Gazzola, great-granddaughter; Penelope Barber.

He was predeceased by the love of his life Iole Assunta Gazzola, his parents Giuseppe and Emma Gazzola, his brothers Luciano and Giacomo and sisters Livia and Luciana and numerous other relatives.

Thanks to longtime friends Joe Scarffo and Giuliano Gerolami for all your love and support. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 21st 2016 at 10:00am at St. Dominic’s R.C.Church celebrated by Rev. Maurizio Maifredi c.s. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Visitation for friends and family will be held on Tuesday September 20th, 2016 at 8pm at St. Dominic’s R.C.Church. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation.

Ugo Gazzola will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 11, 2017.
