With broken hearts we share the passing of our strength, our heart, our hero, our mamma, Vilma Vendruscolo on April 24, 2021.
This was just 4 days short of her 90th Birthday. Mum and Dad arrived in Canada in 1957 from Italy with dreams of raising a family and creating a new and better life. Both were achieved. Mamma lived modestly. Her wealth was in her family, great friends and neighbours. Everyone around her brought her great joy and happiness. She was loved and respected by all. Her home and kitchen were always fragrant with the smell of something cooking, she was affectionately known as “Mamma Gattuso” and there was always room at the table for anyone who stopped by. She took great pride in her abundant garden of vegetables and flowers and her home in Canada.
She will be remembered with great love by her daughters Daniela, and Paula (Joseph). Predeceased by her husband Adriano and other family members.
Due to pandemic restrictions a private ceremony will be held at Blakes Funeral Chapel on Friday April 30, 2021. A mass for family and friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cardiac Fund or any charity of your choice would be appreciated.
