We are sad to announce that a wonderful lady, Mrs. Vincenza Santina Talarico nee Fragale, at the age of 76 years, after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away with family by her side on August 13, 2016.

Vincenza was born in Borboruso, Consenza, Italy on March 22, 1940. She came to Canada with her husband Giuseppe and their 3 children in the middle of winter in 1968, where they stayed and continued their hard-working life together.

Vincenza will be missed by many family and friends who loved and respected her. She was a great cook, and anyone who knew her enjoyed her food. Her garden was one of her passions and she looked forward to the planting season every year. She also loved going for her evening walks with her neighbours. Vincenza looked forward to making homemade bread, tomato sauce, sausages, and a variety of preserves.

Vincenza will be dearly missed by Giuseppe, her husband of 58 years, and their 3 children Louis and wife Michelle, Paula and husband Meshack, and Vince and wife Mary, along with her four special grandsons who meant the world to her, Joseph and wife Amanda, Christopher, Luca and Troy.

She will also be missed by her siblings Luigi and wife Maria Fragale, Carmela Constanzo, and Emilio and Emilia Fragale, her brother and sisters-in-law Angelo and Franca Talarico, Mimma and Gustavo Micculli, and Ninetta Talarico. She was predeceased by her parents Vincenzo and Teresa Fragale, her parents-in-law Luigi and Paola Talarico, and her brother-in-law Mario Talarico.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Talarico will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 leaving the Harbourview Funeral Centre at 10:30 a.m. to St. Anthony’s Church, 123 Hilldale Road, for the Funeral Mass to begin at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum, St. Andrew’s R.C. Cemetery.
