It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Wally Joseph Tokar on Friday October 19, 2018, at the age of 80, at TBRHSC. We would like to extend our thanks for the amazing care Wally received from the nurses on 2C and 3B as well as the palliative care team and attending doctors.

Wally, son of Helen and Michael Tokar, was born and raised in Rossburn, Manitoba where he met and married the love of his life, Lydia for the last 60 years. They have lived happily together in Thunder Bay for the past 50 years.

Wally will be deeply missed by his loving wife Lydia, sister Janice (Roland), three sons Barry (Kelley), Jerry (Leslie), Ryan (Betty Ann), grandchildren, Mandy, Christian, Mikey, Stacey (Will), Chace (Shay), Alisha (Chris), Riley (Taylor), Brittany, great grandchildren, Brayden, Krew, Seth, extended family in Winnipeg and his many fur babies.

Wally’s hobbies included gardening and feeding his squirrels (Chico) with Lydia in their beautiful backyard, anything and everything to do with computers, photography, hunting and fishing in his early years and playing cards at the cigar shop with Ziggy and the Boys. He was able to live his dream of flight; Wally loved flying his twin engine Ultra Lite airplane. Wally enjoyed cooking up new recipes with Lydia and always loved his favourite dessert, chocolate cake. Wally will always be remembered for his witty sense of humor that kept everyone laughing at family gatherings.

To honour Wally’s wishes there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Kitty Kare Thunder Bay would be greatly appreciated or enjoy a cigar in memory of Wally. Wally, we miss you so much already, sending lots of love and hugs your way.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
