Mr. Walter Wychopen , age 78 years, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, on Saturday, October 3, 2015.
Walter was born and raised in Fort William. For over 40 years, Walter owned and operated the Empire Hotel as well as several other successful businesses in Thunder Bay. He is survived by his wife Rosemarie, son Richard (wife Lisa), daughter Donna and granddaughter Lindsey (fiancé Alex Jaspers).
He was predeceased by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Wychopen and infant sister Mary. Funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 11:00 am, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. P. M. Stilla V. G.. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre Foundation – Northern Cancer Fund would be appreciated.
Walter Wychopen will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2016.
