Wayne Morris Meadows, age 79 years, passed peacefully on Thursday, January 18th at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital, surrounded by his wife Cécile and sons Dean and Wayne Jr.

He was born in Timmins, Ontario in 1938 and grew up in North Bay. He completed graduate studies in Waterloo and Calgary. Wayne spent the past 30 years in Thunder Bay with his spouse Cécile as an active community member. He worked as a clinical psychologist at Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital until his retirement in 2003. Wayne lived a full life – and served others primarily in his dedication to the Masons’ fraternity in Kaministiquia Lodge #584. In the 1980s, he loved spending weekends hiking and skiing with his family and friends in the Canadian Rockies. He was a lifelong learner and had a passion for playing games – especially bridge and chess. Wayne encouraged lively debates and loved watching sports on television – especially if his teams won!

Wayne will be lovingly remembered by Cécile, his wife of 49 years, sons Wayne Jr. (Rory) and Dean (Karen); granddaughters Anna and Madison. He is survived by his Meadows siblings Marilyn (Vince), June (Marcel), Glenn (Marilyn), Lloyd (Wendy) and Ray.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, presided by Rev. Msgr. P.M. Stilla, V.G. Visitation will begin one hour prior. A Masonic Service of Tribute will follow the funeral. Private interment will take place in St. Andrew’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shelter House, or to St. Agnes Parish (piano fund), or a charity of your choice.

The road was long and varied, travelled to the fullest.
