Mr. Wilfred Hardy, age 78 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 12th, 2018 in St. Joseph’s Hospital. Wilf was born July 22nd, 1939 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

He came to Thunder Bay as a child along with his parents and siblings. He worked in the Sheet Metal Industry his entire life including Keenan’s Sheet Metal for many years, then starting his own business Hardy Bros Sheet Metal & Heating with his brother Stanley Hardy and later branching out on his own. Wilf loved to watch his grandchildren playing soccer, hockey and baseball from the early years right up until last winter. On his 75th birthday Wilf finally got the puppy he always wanted “Abby”. He will be missed by his faithful and loving little furbaby.

Survived by his wife of 57 years, Sheila Hardy, his daughters Donna Ross, Kelly Daberer (Volker), Jackie Anton (Kevin), grandchildren Aaron Ross, Alex Ross, Jason Placken, Alysha Placken, Tyler Anton, Kody Anton, brother Stanley Hardy (Judy) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents, Archibald and Lily Hardy, brothers Norman Hardy, Jim Hardy, sister in law Bernice Hardy, sisters Joyce Squitti, Doreen Smith and niece Brenda Hardy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 19th, 2 pm – 4 pm, with words of tribute being offered at 2:30 p.m. in the Sargent Family Reception Centre, 21 N. Court Street.
