Mr. William (Bill) Asmunt, age 69 years, a resident of Castlegreen, Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully in the T.B.R.H.S.C. on September, 15, 2016.
Bill worked at the March of Dimes, Thunder Bay in his younger years, but had to retire early due to his health conditions.
e enjoyed his movies and listening to his favourite artist, Elvis. Bill enjoyed his visits with family and friends, especially when his brother Brian came to visit, they would do short outings, sightseeing, shopping and going for lunch.
Bill will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sister Brenda Prosser (Greg McEachern); five brothers Brian (Linda Branscombe) Asmunt, of Peterborough, ON, Michael (Bernice) Asmunt, Victor (Debbie) Asmunt, of Ware, BC, Mark (Kathleen) Maki, of Calgary, AB, and Peter (Marsha) Asmunt, of Inglewood, ON. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews who knew him as “Uncle Bill on Wheels”.
Bill was predeceased by his father Arvo Asmunt, mother Elise Ahola (nee Makinen/Asmunt), and five brothers, Robert, Allan, Raymond, Marvin and Norman.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Riverside Cemetery, 800 Oliver Road, presided by Rev. Ed Long.
Friends are welcome to gather at the main gate. Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
