William (Bill) Foley, age 72 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully but unexpectedly at TBRHSC with family by his side on Thursday, August 8, 2024.

Bill was born on July 5th, 1952 in Miramichi, New Brunswick. He attended school and lived in Barnaby River until he moved to Thunder Bay in 1972.

He worked various jobs with Abitibi, Otis Elevator and Great Lakes paper until his retirement in 2009 after 30 years of service. Following retirement, Bill drove school bus and also volunteered for the Red Cross.

Bill enjoyed long bike rides, lunch with “the boys”, watching his beloved Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. In the winter, Bill and Marianne would travel to Yuma, Arizona.

Bill is survived by wife of 50 years, Marianne, step-daughter Kelly-Lynn Cronk, grandson Jesse Cronk, step-daughter Kerry-Lee Barbini (Tony Colaneri), sister Margaret (Carroll) Donahue, niece Dawn Donahue, sister Karen (Pat) Mahoney. Survived by cousins and special friends, Tom Armstrong, David Deeley, Mike Boutilier, Wayne Wag, Jim Laughton and many others.

Bill was predeceased by his father Edward, mother Margaret, nephew Shawn, nephew Kevin and brother James.

Cremation has taken place and as per Bill’s wishes, no service will be held in Thunder Bay. There will be a public memorial mass in Barnaby River, New Brunswick at Most Pure Heart of Mary Church, Monday, August 19th at 11:00am.
