Mr. William (Billy) McAteer, aged 76 years, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2022 in Southbridge Lakehead Manor.
William was born on October 9, 1945 in Fort William. Billy had cerebral palsy. He loved doing hook rugs and has won a few ribbons for his work. He loved watching The Price is Right and The Young and the Restless.
Billy will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sister Madelin Lawson, great nephew Jesse Cherniski and Ken Boshcoff, his “Big Brother” of 40 years. He was predeceased by his parents Rose and William McAteer.
The family of William would like to thank Dr. Ruby Klassen, Southbridge Lakehead Manor (5th floor) staff and nurses, Jenkens Funeral Home and Katarina MacKenzie for all of her help.
A Celebration of William’s Life will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Cerebral Palsy Association or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
