It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William (Bob) Robert Martyn of Thunder Bay on April 11, 2022 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born December 2nd, 1953 in Red Deer, Alberta. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Ginny Martyn; children Tina (Danny), Barry (Jenni) and Tanya; his mother Eleanor; brothers Terry (Sandi), Glenn (Rhonda); sisters Karen (Jim), Diane (Randy), Paula (Albert); 3 grandchildren, Callum (Kat), Gabby and Adri and 1 great grandchild Niiko, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Bill in 2012.
Bob had a lifelong career at TBayTel and then when he and his wife retired they spent their winters in Arizona. This is where he began his love (sometimes hate) for the sport of golf.
Bob was a family focused man. He loved spending time with the little ones who called him Grandpa Bobby. He will be missed by all. He had strength and positivity about everything and always put others ahead of himself.
As per Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place and a family gathering will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
