Bill passed away peacefully at age 69 in the comfort of his home with his loving wife by his side on Saturday, May 22, 2021, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, after a long battle with cancer.

Bill was born on August 26, 1951, in Beardmore, Ontario.  He moved with his family to Thunder Bay as a teenager to attend high school where he met the love of his life, Hope.  They were married on May 9, 1970 at just 18 years old.  Sixteen years later, they adopted their only daughter, Jennifer, who was Bill’s pride and joy.

Bill was a jack of all trades and could always be found tinkering around.  When he wasn’t trying to fix something, he was out fishing and hunting.  Bill had a passion for all food, especially dessert which he loved enjoying during coffee and joke telling with family and friends.  Over his life, Bill had a lot of interests including vintage cars, western films, playing poker, shooting pool, bowling, and watching hockey and baseball.  He loved listening to country music and like many of his siblings, Elvis Presley.

Bill worked hard to provide for his family.  He spent 35 years working for the local paper mill that he eventually retired from.  He spent his earlier years working in the mines and at a local store in Beardmore.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Lorrice Elliott, siblings Lorraine Freeman and Joanne Ezowske and numerous others.  He is survived by his wife Hope, daughter Jennifer, siblings Carol (Buck) Grey, Joe (Heather) Elliott, Leo (Rose) Elliott, Lorne (Linda) Elliott, Kelly (Rod) Hilton, brother-in-law Dave Ezowske, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to current restrictions, a private family service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:00am.  Those who would like to attend the service may do so virtually by following the link.  A celebration of Bill’s life will be held for all to attend at a later date.  A special thanks from Hope goes out to Amanda, Carol, Joe, Heather, Lorne, Linda, Margie, Robert, Alexis, Eric, the Wanzuk family, Courtney, Kate, Jordo, and everyone else that has helped us over the years.
