Mr. William John “Willy” Comuzzi age 84 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, on Tuesday, February 3, 2015.

Willy was born and raised in Fort William. He attended St. Peter’s school and FWCI. He entered the working world with his father at the East End service station. He married the former Bruna Maronese on October 15 1952. When Willy retired from the service station his work did not stop.

He started the Lottery Stores in Thunder Bay and continued there for a number of years. He was very active in the community and worked well past the age of 65.

Willy and Bruna enjoyed travelling south and spent many winter vacations in the Barbados. Willy was a longtime member of the 3rd degree of the Knights of Columbus Fort William Council #1447 and the 4th degree Father Baxter Assembly. He also was a member of the Principe di Piemonte, a former member of Fort William Gyro and for many years was very active in the Beavers Hockey organization.  Willy is survived by his wife Bruna; son William Jr.; grandson Kyle, granddaughter Ashley, sister Joann  (Don) Thomson, niece Paula and nephew Ryan, numerous other relatives and many friends that he made over the years. Willy was predeceased by his father John and mother Mary. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 11:00am, at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Sunny Sebastian. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will take place on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel. If friends desire, memorials to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Willy Comuzzi will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2016.
