Mr. William 'Bill' Playle, age 85 years, passed away peacefully in Roseview Manor on Monday, May 4, 2015.
Bill was born December 25, 1929 in Dorion. He started his working career as a truck driver at the age of 16. Bill helped with the building of the Dorion fish hatchery. He worked 31 years at Great West Timber until his retirement in 1995. He loved to dance and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and in later years going to craft sales.
Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy, children; Don (Cathy), Walter (Cheryl), Carol (Don), Pat (Kim) and Penny, grandchildren; Shayne (Devon), Robyn (Justin), Luke, Nick (Anna), Emma, Carly, Samuel, Michaela and Jared, great-granddaughter; Olive and numerous other family members.
He was predeceased by his parents and seven siblings as well as other family members.
Funeral Services for the late Mr. Bill Playle will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 with family and friends assembling in St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church at 2:00 PM with Father Chris Harper officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.
