It is with overwhelming sadness that we say goodbye to our dad, our grampa, our brother, our son, our uncle, our nephew, our cousin and our friend.
There are so many memories of good times that we now treasure and hold on to. Willy was an incredibly skilled and dedicated hockey player and played the game for many years. He loved his job as a drywaller and many homes in his community of Fort William First Nation benefited from the pride he took in that. Willy also loved going out into the bush every December to find and cut perfect Christmas Trees and soon took over that business from his father. He was funny, honest, lovable and stubborn as a mule. When Willy got an idea in his head, good luck trying to talk him out of it. We will certainly miss him in our lives.
His family included his parents Jessie M. Bannon and the late Howard Bannon, brothers Gerald (Judy), Walter (Kelly) and Barry, sisters Janice, Rita, Wanda (Carl) and June (Grant). Children Jesse, Jessica, Kyle and Wolf, granddaughter Mackenzie, step-sons Deacon Hummel and David Gratzki, nieces and nephews Lindsay, Shawn, Michael, Cory, Daryl Lynn, Joshua and Charlie.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., at St. Anne's Mission Church celebrated by Rev. Larry Kroker s.j. Interment will take place at a later date.
Prayers will be offered Sunday, November 11, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anne’s Mission Church. If friends desire, memorials to the Thunder Bay Diabetes Association or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
