William Stanley

RCAF Ret'd William (Bill) Jesse Carl Stanley, CD, 29 Sep 1948 - 8 Apr 2018 of Armstrong Station, Ontario has passed away much too young at age 69. Loving husband to Rose (nee Wynn), and father to Robert (Tiffany), Roger (Karla), and Karen (Alex). Grandfather to Samantha, Dylan (Desiree), Taniyan (Ashley), Travis (Jaylene), Brandon, Jacob, William, Tyson (Laila), Blake, Justin, and Morgan. Great-grandfather to Kerstyn, Ali, Jenni, Kaius and Noah. He was loved by his mother-in-law Jenny, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his beautiful daughter Jennifer, grandson Markus, his parents Thomas and Ruby and brother-in-laws Allan, Edward and Frankie.

Bill served in the RCAF from 1965 to 1980. During his posting to Armstrong he met his loving wife Rose who kept him in line (mostly) for 44 years. His time in the military came in handy for interrogating potential suitors for his children.   With the garage door open at "Papa's House", one could always rely on Bill to be there to help the neighborhood kids with their flat tires and dull skates, and their parents with welding, tools and even a beer or two. His garage door was always open. Bill was always available to call on for advice about anything, and his wicked sense of humour would have you laughing before he offered up his sage advice. 

Bill loved a cold beer and a John Wayne western. He was a man's man who was always there to help and teach you how to do things, for the people who know "Tim the Tool Man" that was him. But most of all he loved his family more than anything in this world! 

A Celebration of Life will take place in Armstrong, Ontario on Friday April 13, 1-3 at the Whitesand First Nation multiplex. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society in Bill's name in lieu of flowers.
