Mrs. Zofia Michalak, age 85 years, passed away peacefully at the T.B.R.H.S.C. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. 

Zofia was born in Poland on September 1, 1931, the daughter of Lukasz and Rozalia Malicki. 

She married Henryk Michalak and together they raised 3 children. She immigrated to Canada in 1980 to be with family. 

As a young woman in Poland she was a talented dressmaker, working for the fashion company Moda.  Zofia enjoyed cooking and baking and many friends and family reaped the benefits of her excellent skills. 

She was a member of Polish Alliance Branch #19 and St. Mary’s Our Lady Queen of Poland R.C. Church. 

Zofia will be lovingly remembered by her children Tadeusz “Ted” (Lucy), Jadwiga (Zdzislaw) Orlowski and Zbigniew “Roman” (Natalia), grandchildren: Mark Michalak, Cindy (James) Mashinter, Adam (Savoarn) Michalak, Sebastian (Samantha) and Daniel (Toni) Orlowski, Anna-Maria (Anthony) Hurley, Marta (Scott Ackerman), Krystian and Amelia Michalak, twin sister Antonina as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.  She was predeceased by her husband Henryk and her parents. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 when family and friends will gather in St. Mary’s Our Lady Queen of Poland R.C. Church for the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:30 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Ireneusz Stadler. 

The inurnment service will follow at St. Andrew’s Cemetery. 

A reception in the Sargent Family Reception will follow the funeral services.  As expressions of sympathy memorials to the T.B.R.H.S. Foundation – Northern Cancer Fund would be appreciated.
