Mrs. Zorica Sikic, age 89, of Lambton Cres. in Thunder Bay passed away on March 21, 2017.

Zorica was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia where she was initially raised. She married George Sikic in 1948. She immigrated to Canada in 1964 with her husband George and daughter Biljana. They settled in Toronto and resided on Durie Street. Zorica found work and a career as a pattern maker/designer in the fashion industry in Toronto. Later on, she and George moved to Anworld Cres. in Mississauga. Zorica's life was altered with the untimely death of her husband George in 1992. She lived on her own for almost 18 years at that location. In August 2009 her mobility was impacted by a hit and run car accident as she was waiting for a bus in Mississauga. With failing vision, she eventually, in 2010 moved to Thunder Bay to be closer to her daughter and family.

Zorica was meticulous in everything she did; everything in her household including her yard and garden needed to be tended and in its proper place. She spent countless hours sewing, gardening, cooking/baking and knitting, always willing to share the results of her activities with family, friends and neighbours. Her greatest joy was her family.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Biljana Baker; son-in-law William Baker; grandsons Shawn (Cassandra) and Derek (Rachelle); and great grandsons Adler and Ronan.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 S. Syndicate Avenue. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at 10 am the same day.

Should friends desire, memorial donations to Hospice Northwest or St. Joseph's Hospital would be appreciated.
