ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — A 53-year-old man from St. Catharines, Ont., is facing child pornography charges following an investigation by Niagara regional police.

Police say Thursday that earlier this month investigators started looking into the creation and distribution of digital files of child pornography from within the Niagara region.

Officers then searched a St. Catharines residence and charged Allan (Jay) Fiocca with making, possessing and distributing child pornography.

Police say the suspect is being held in custody on the allegations pending a bail hearing.

They say no more information will be released to ensure the integrity of the investigation.
