Mappin scores overtime winner as Bandits edge Vees 2-1 at RBC Cup

COBOURG, Ont. — Ty Mappin scored in overtime to lift the Brooks Bandits to a 2-1 victory over the Penticton Vees on Sunday at the RBC Cup.

COBOURG, Ont. — Ty Mappin scored in overtime to lift the Brooks Bandits to a 2-1 victory over the Penticton Vees on Sunday at the RBC Cup.

Parker Foo scored in regulation on a power play for the Bandits (2-0-0), who won for the second time in as many games at Canada's junior-A hockey championship.

Ryley Risling had the lone goal for the Vees (0-0-1).

Bandits goaltender Mitch Benson made 20 saves. Penticton's Mathew Robson stopped 31 shots.

Also Sunday, Chad Pietroniro scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period as the Terrebonne Cobras (1-1-0) rallied for a 3-2 win over the Trenton Golden Hawks (0-1-0).

The Cobras scored three third-period goals to take the lead.
