TORONTO — A motorcyclist who died in hospital after being injured in a crash in north-end Toronto on Wednesday night was a 30-year-old firefighter who graces the cover of this year's Toronto Firefighter Calendar.

Stuart Bryan was also a fitness trainer and a former lifeguard.

Investigators say Bryan driving along Leslie St. when his motorcycle was struck by a Jeep that was exiting a private driveway.

Toronto Fire Capt. John Martin said Bryan loved being a firefighter and was an "energetic" member of the team.

Martin added that while Bryan was proud of making the cover of the calendar, it came with a fair bit of friendly teasing from his colleagues. (CP24)
