MINDEMOYA, Ont. — Provincial police are appealing for the public's help in recovering fentanyl that was taken from a Manitoulin Island pharmacy.

Investigators say fentanyl patches were taken from a drug store in Mindemoya, Ont., on Tuesday.

They say a 27-year-old man from M'Chigeeng First Nation has been charged with theft under $5,000.

But police say the patches have not been recovered and are asking anyone who knows where they are to call the OPP.

Fentanyl is a powerful narcotic prescribed by physicians for pain management and has been linked to numerous deaths when abused.
