Woman, 2 children killed in multi-vehicle crash on Coquitlam, B.C., highway

COQUITLAM, B.C. — A young woman and two children have been killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Coquitlam, B.C. RCMP say the accident happened Friday evening on the Lougheed Highway just east of Vancouver.

RCMP say the accident happened Friday evening on the Lougheed Highway just east of Vancouver.

Police say the woman was in one vehicle, while the two girls — ages three and nine — were in another.

A third vehicle was also involved in the collision and a total of five people were taken to hospital with varying injuries.

Police have not provided an update on their condition.

Family members of those killed have been notified but no names have been released, and police say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
