Toronto police say they are concerned about the safety of a woman who was hit by a car and then carried into another vehicle in the city's east end this morning.

Police say it happened just before 3 a.m. (in the McCowan Road and Eglinton Avenue area).

They say people in the area heard arguing then saw a woman get out of a white SUV.

Police say witnesses then saw two other vehicles pull up, one of which — a dark sedan — struck the woman.

They say it's reported that three men then picked her up and took her inside a silver vehicle.

The woman is described as black, with short hair, while the suspects are black and in their early to mid-20s.
