Two local business owners are hosting a craft market to raise money for the Thunder Bay District Humane Society.

Kailee Biloski, owner of Little Things Handmade Creations, and Haleigh Robertson, owner of H. Creations Co., lost their dogs within the past year and wanted to do something to give back to animals in need.

Crafting for a Cause will take place on Sunday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Thunder Bay. There will be over 40 local vendors selling their products, as well as the Mini Donuts Shoppe enticing patrons at the hotel entrance.

One of the unique features of this craft market is that each vendor will be donating a product to be included in a raffle prize basket. The raffle prize baskets will be displayed at the Humane Society table at the event, where people can purchase tickets. All proceeds from the raffle tickets will go to the Humane Society.

In addition to the raffle prize baskets, the Humane Society will also be selling their own merchandise at the event. There will also be a bright balloon display and photo prop area where people can take pictures while shopping.

Biloski and Robertson are hoping for a good turnout at the craft market and are excited to raise money for the Humane Society.

"We both lost our dogs within the past year and know how important the Humane Society is to our community," said Biloski. "We want to do our part to help them continue their important work.”

The Thunder Bay District Humane Society is a non-profit organization that provides care and shelter for animals in need. They also offer a variety of programs and services to the community, such as spay/neuter clinics, adoption events, and educational programs.

The Crafting for a Cause event is a fun opportunity to support a local charity and to shop for unique and handmade products. Some of the artisans at the craft market have decided to create or sell specific products that will be sold at their table, and some proceeds from that particular item will then be donated to the Humane Society.

When you visit the craft market, be sure to ask the vendors about any special products they are selling to support the Humane Society. It's the perfect way to show your support for a local charity and to get a unique product at the same time.
