MUSKOKA, Ont. – Thunder Bay’s Jack Moro finished tied for 40th at the Ontario Amateur Golf Championship.

Moro, who earlier this year paired with Nathan Lepore to win the Mallon's Play it Again Sports Better Ball title, shot a 3-over 75 on Saturday to finish with a four-round total of 16-over 304.

He opened with back-to-back 74s to make the cut by five strokes, then struggled in Friday’s third round, shooting a 9-over 81 to fall back down the leaderboard.

Bayview Golf and Country Club’s Eric Zhao captured the tournament in a playoff over Dawson Lew. The two golfers finished the championship at 7-under 281, two of five golfers under par for the week. NHL referee Garrett Rank was third, four shots off the pace.

Moro, with his finish, earned an exemption into next month’s Canadian Amateur, which will be contested at the Royal Ottawa Golf Club, starting on July 28.
