Keegan works mostly on the ad's you see on the three Newswatch websites.
He grew up in Kakabeka, and moved into the city when he was 14.
“The greatest part of Thunder Bay, of course, is having family. They're your biggest support.
“Thunder Bay has a really big art community, and the arts are a part of my life – I'm just happy to be part of the community,” he said.
In his spare time, Keegan does a lot of photography and filmmaking including a little bit of everything.
“Mostly it's nature and also cityscapes, landscapes and architecture. Anything that is historic too, because you never know if something's going to be demolished or burnt down, anything that really catches my eye,” he said.
Keegan wanted to expand his skills in the media arts, and found that graphic design elevated his skill set.
Now he does graphics for Dougall Media's advertisers as well as presentation mockups for potential clients.
Dougall Media became Keegan’s workplace in the winter of 2021, during the pandemic.
“Just being with coworkers. Especially working along with the sales team, in the same area, it just makes the job easier and also it makes it more fun.
“As much as I like to work quietly, I like to communicate with people too,” he said.
If he could be doing anything at all, without limits, Keegan would love to see more of the world — and spend more time making movies.
“I would love to travel just to see more of the world, out of the country, and if that wasn't working, I would be doing more filming for my own personal projects. I would definitely be working on experimental films or documentaries.
“If I'm on holidays, I always go out of town and go to the cities of Canada and music festivals as well."
Keegan likes to see local music and travelling musicians. Just seeing large crowds at events is something Keegan really enjoys.
