Dryden man faces theft charges

One man faces two counts of theft under $5,000 following an arrest.

DRYDEN, Ont. -- Police have made an arrest related to a pair of recent thefts in Dryden.

In a release issued Tuesday, Dryden Police Service arrested a 36-year-old man after receiving back to back reports of theft from the LCBO and Queen Street Laundromat.

Police say they received a call early Saturday afternoon from the LCBO reported a man attempting to leave the store with a quantity of alcohol without paying. Shortly after another call came in from a customer of Queen Street Laundromat reporting the accused walked in and stole the victim’s phone.

Officers arrested the man on Orvis Street and he was taken into custody.

The 36-year-old faces two counts of theft under $5,000 and two additional charges of violating court orders.
