DRYDEN, Ont. - Dryden’s Winter Festival is back again for Family Day weekend (Friday, February 16 to Monday, February 19), with this event marking the 9th year of Winterfest! The Kiwanis Club of Dryden will be the host of this weekend for the third year in a row, with this year’s theme being “Hometown Proud!”

“In Partnership with the City of Dryden, The Kiwanis Club of Dryden volunteers are working hard at planning the 9th Annual Dryden Winter Festival,” said Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Dryden, Suzanne Joly-Cesiunas.

The festival website (www.drydenwinterfestival.com) has been updated, including a printable schedule banner on the homepage listing the confirmed events for this year’s celebration. In addition, the Facebook page (Dryden Winter Festival) will provide regular updates and fun highlights of the festival! Event highlights include a pancake breakfast, sled rides, skating, and ice fishing. New this year is a  two person team winter shelter building contest. Please note that some events do require registration (bowling, shelter building, fish derby) so please check the registration pages on the festival website for details.

Keep your eyes peeled for “Nanook” (the festival mascot) and friends who will be spreading good cheerleading up to and during the festival event schedule.

“Festivals and events remind us about the value of community, help lift our spirits during the cold winter months, and are simply a fun way to come together and support each other. We are very pleased to warmly welcome newcomers, businesses, and residents to enjoy as many activities as they can,” said Nicole Gale, Manager of Tourism & Community Initiatives.

If you have an idea or event that you would like to enter on the schedule, please visit the website or reach us at the contact information listed below. The City of Dryden, Kiwanis Club of Dryden and other community partners are proud to support the festival. Our hats are tipped to say a big thank-you to the volunteers and businesses supporting the 9th Annual Winter Festival.
