Fire services continue to operate in Dryden despite dispute.

DRYDEN, Ont. -- A dispute has broken out in the City of Dryden.

The Volunteer Firefighters Association has announced they will be suspending services immediately, following the dismissal of three of their senior members, including a Captain with 18 years of experience.

The association says its members have no confidence in the fire chief and they claim the dismissal was initiated by the chief, the city's C-A-O, Mayor and council.

Dryden officials say volunteers at the Number Two Fire Hall will continue to respond to emergency calls.

The nearby Oxdrift and Wabigoon fire departments will also be available to assist the Dryden fire service, through their mutual aid agreements.
