DRYDEN, Ont. -- In collaboration with the Dryden and District Museum, Scouts from the Kenkee and Manitoba Council will be “Live on Location” on Saturday, February 17, at the Dryden and District Museum.

For more than 100 years, Scouts Canada has brought a world of adventure, outdoor experience, friendship and fun to 17 million Canadian youth. Scouts have fun youth-led adventures discovering new things and experiences they would not discover elsewhere. Along the way, they develop into capable, confident and well-rounded individuals, better prepared for success in the world.

“Scouts Canada has recently renewed our programs and we are very excited to showcase the scouting program for families in Dryden,” said Area Support Manager from the Kenkee and Manitoba Council, Erika Maguire.

Join us for Scouts Canada’s “Live on Location” at the Dryden and District Museum for an afternoon of free family activities, during Winter Festival! Drop in to ask questions about Scouts Canada’s brand-new youth-led program, titled “Canadian Path”, enjoy a complimentary cup of hot chocolate and complete a take-home craft. There will be activities from 1 to 3 p.m., ranging from winter camping safety, crafts, enjoying hot chocolate and bannock, and learning about how you can bring a Scouting troop to Dryden. Please dress weather appropriate, due to the activities taking place outdoors.

“We (the Dryden & District Museum and Advisory Board) are excited to have Scouts from the Kenkee and Manitoba Council organize this event,” said Cultural and Tourism Coordinator, Bethany Waite.

While visitors can enjoy the outdoor activities and information sessions put on by Scouts Canada, they can also learn about scouting history in Dryden with the current exhibit titled “Be Prepared: Scouts & Guides”. The Winter 2018 Exhibit will be on display at the Dryden and District Museum until Feb. 22.
