In honour of Women’s History Month, my office has been featuring women from our community on my Facebook page; we have heard countless stories about women from Thunder Bay—Rainy River who have done amazing things for our community.

Back in April, I had the honour of attending the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in New York City, alongside several of my colleagues.

This is a special year; across the country, people will celebrate the diversity and beauty of Canada.

It was great to be back in Thunder Bay—Rainy River last week and participate in some much-needed infrastructure announcements in our riding.

Last month I held a roundtable in Thunder Bay with Veterans and Legion members to discuss some of the issues they are facing in our riding.

Since my election I have made a commitment to engaging people across the riding and from all walks of life. In January I hosted a town hall discussion for seniors at the West Thunder Community Centre.

This month I had the incredible opportunity to travel with several of my colleagues to Israel on a Parliamentary mission with the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs.

As we embark on a New Year, it is important to take time to focus on what the future holds for our communities in the Thunder Bay—Rainy River riding and our country as a whole.
