I would like to nominate Cassandra Nordal for this years Holiday Hero contest.
Cassandra Nordal has been advocating for animals for the past few years in Thunder Bay. Her crazy addiction to all things cats started when she was young and now, has turned into a full time passion and life long dream. She has two rescue cats of her own, Hansen and Sawyer and they are the loves of her life.
From the Executive Director role of the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society, PetSmart petcare, assisting in a variety of local fundraisers, volunteering for many local animal shelters and rescues, to her most recent adventure, opening up Thunder Bays first Cat Cafe, Paws & Purr Cat Cafe, she does it all for the animals or in her words “four legged heart beats.”
Her drive, passion and overall heart of gold is what makes her absolutely unique and a genuinely good person. She continues to turn ideas into goals and make those goals a reality all in order to help out her furry friends and local community. If she could save them all, I know she would. Not only does she go above and beyond for animals, she always puts her family and friends first, Cass is the type of person who makes anyone feel welcomed in an overcrowded awkward room and lights up the room while she’s at it. She’s the type of person who you can count on when you’re having a bad day and need a laugh, when you just need someone to listen or talk to. She is always there for everyone.
I think if Cass won this year’s contest, she would donate the proceeds to a not for profit animal welfare organization or to someone in need because that’s just who she is. I hope you consider her this year for this Holiday Hero Nomination. In our opinion, she’s already a hero!
