Nomination:
I would like to nominate Joshua Donald Hewitt who is the go funder of standup4cleanup.
This amazing young man and his team have been seen out in our wonderful city helping and providing a safer and cleaner city for our city.
With over 500 bags and over 1000 needles collected and disposed of properly. I again nominate Joshua. Let’s all standup4cleanup.
Nomination:
I would like to nominate Josh for his founding and bottom lining of StandUp4CleanUp, a local grassroots organization that cleans up the streets, alleys, parks and lawns of Thunder Bay through volunteer labour and partnerships with the city and local organizations/businesses.
I admire his strength as he has come from a history of poverty, homelessness and addiction. I appreciate his ability to listen to my advice as he grows his projects and builds his vision. I respect his inclusion and respect of any folk. I notice his ability to hold any person accountable who are on a dark pats, even if they are a close friend.
I've seen Josh come a long way in these past years, and I hope that he can be this years holiday hero to further the strength and recognition of his organization (now a non-profit with a board!) and to put the funds to good use.
