Holiday Hero nominee: Rebecca Britton (2 photos)

I want to nominate my bestie Rebecca Britton for Holiday Hero. Not only is she a loving and dedicated mother of two amazing adopted boys, a very amazing Daycare provider, her kids, and the parents love her endless love and care for the children that come to a place to grow. She has helped shape several little people including a very special needs child, that she adores as her own. She is an active member of the Bear Clan patrol in Thunder Bay, a group that goes out weekly in search of people who need immediate help. .Becca was also the first volunteer to take on the First Blessing Box in the city. The Blessing box is outside Rebecca's home and is filled with non-perishable foods, mitts, toiletries, and hygiene products for anyone who may need something.

As well, on several outings together, she has asked to pull over help those in need, whether it be a person or even a furry friend. She will take in that stray dog, and give a hand up to those finding themselves on the street. Just last week as we were shopping together, we noticed a man looking very distressed, we pulled over to see if we could help...she game him enough money for coffee and handed her own hot chocolate to him to help keep him warm. We did this as several other people just turned a blind eye and went along with their shopping. As it is her style, she got out of the vehicle to give the man a big warm hug too. She then went on to call the SOS Thunder Bay, to ensure the man would be helped... She even checked back a couple hours later to make sure he was safe and warm. It warms my heart to
the fullest, that Rebecca is so caring and loving, she will help you, your dog, your neighbor... it's like she turns into superwoman, of course without the cape, and I have seen this first-hand several times. Rebecca is a strong advocate for those who are vulnerable We, as a community, need more superheroes like Rebecca in our lives. She doesn't take credit for anything she does, everything she does is with no expected return of any kind. I'm proud that she is my best Friend!
