I would like to nominate a team of people in our community who have made it their mission to assist those in need here in Thunder Bay.
The group The Green Dream Team- Helping Hearts have not only been cleaning up the streets in Thunder Bay but also have been building what's called a Blessing Box.
The Blessing boxes are filled with non-perishable foods, mitts, toiletries, and hygiene products for anyone who may need something.
They rely solely on donations and the motto for the boxes is "take what you need, give what you can."
They have installed two boxes as of 6 p.m. November 23, 2018 and will be installing six more if I am correct.
Our community needs this and initiatives like this.
I am Nominating the whole group in the hopes that it showcases the Boxes and brings more awareness to the social determinants of health that some residents face in Thunder Bay.
