Gregg Nugent

gregg-nugent

July 30, 1967- June 17, 2025

Remembering Gregg on what would have been his 58th birthday.  He passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, after a long and incredibly courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of his life was held on July 7, 2025, with those that loved and meant the most to him.

Gregg leaves behind his five amazing children, (and one bonus kid), he cherished all of them so much, Alex, Jenna, Zeke, Dakota, Brady and Aaralynn.  He is also remembered with love by his siblings: Gord, Geri, Gerald, Georgina, George and Rita. He has four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that looked up to him and thought of him as the cool guy.  He also leaves behind his special angel, Bobbie, who fought to keep him from gaining his wings for as long as possible.

Gregg is predeceased by his parents, Gennette (1997) and Thomas Nugent (2011), sons Adam and Tyler (1990), nephew Denis Mutz (2022), wife Carolyn (2024), great nephew Brayden Lehtinen (2019), two brother-in-laws Ben (1987) and Bob (2000).

He leaves behind his beloved dogs, Frank and Leonard, his gentle giant companions who rarely left his side.

Known for his brute strength, generosity, quick wit, ability to fix almost anything, and larger than life presence filled with unexpected pranks. Gregg was always ready with a tool in his hand, and a one liner on his lips to help you get out of the pickle you were in. He was a protector, a father, a friend and a man that lived on his own terms.

A heart felt thank you to his team of doctors and nurses he had at the TBRHSC, Dr. Chan, Dr. Simpson, Dr. Haggerty and especially Dr. Ward, also the amazing nurses on 1A. You guys helped him fight this destructive disease with as much independence, control and power as possible.

He enjoyed the simple things in life and the outdoors especially so….

May he always find calm waters, a quiet shoreline and the biggest fish biting.

We will love you always and forever---Your family
