To the editor:
I recently attended the swearing in of our newly appointed police chief J.P. Levesque and was extremely impressed by the honour guard of four of our officers who stood so stern and attentive all through the service.
As a long-time taxpayer at 89 years old, plus an RCAF veteran from the Second World War, it was a heart-warming and emotional event, realizing all the responsibilities taken on by our newly appointed police chief.
I saw a family and a crowded assembly of proud citizens of Thunder Bay march in silence and seriousness of an event which made me so proud of our men and women in blue. The honour guard was so impressive to add to the event.
