To the editor:

Summer sunshine. Three summer focuses for me this year, after that long winter, are camping locally, voting for our Ontario Conservatives, and talking across the fences with our neighbours after being house bound so long.

Chippewa Park hosted a wonderful Kite Festival with so many people out there it reminded us of the Exhibition.

A summer day to enjoy with family.

Then as seniors, retired, we stayed overnight in the wonderful campground there, great camp kitchen with a fridge, stove, oven and microwave.

But where were the people? We had the whole place to ourselves.

On July 1 last year there, it was almost empty, too.

When I was a girl my mother stayed out there tenting with us four children while my father was at work and our grandparents brought us out a roaster of yummy food!

Just enjoy the great scenery and fun so close to home.
