LETTER: City has failed us

To the editor:

City council has done a lot for the people living in and around the Fort William side of town.

They’ve cut traffic flow on Victoria Avenue from four lanes down to two, given us more meth clinics than the city of Vancouver, started killing the downtown business section with the building of Victoriaville, and have continued to do so with low income, shelter houses, while all the while ,the happy hookers are waving their arms like they have won a lottery.

Twenty per cent of our street lights are out, James Street and Balmoral Avenue are nothing more then wash boards and while the manhole covers on the new Golf Links and Oliver Roads sink up to two inches below grade and we take credit for having the highest murder and domestic abuse in Canada.

As a taxpayer, I won't even get into us being held hostage by the contractors who are building the condos at the Marina. Then I see a statement from our mayor telling me what he’s done for me. Really?
