Letter: City has natural beauty

To the editor: I find it very sad and disgusting that our city is spending sinful amounts of taxpayers’ dollars on what they think is art in order to make our waterfront acceptable.

I find it very sad and disgusting that our city is spending sinful amounts of taxpayers’ dollars on what they think is art in order to make our waterfront acceptable.

I always thought this place to be one of the most beautiful locations I have ever seen with its majestic view of the islands, the lighthouse and of course, the Sleeping Giant.

How could any man-made doodads even come close to what nature has provided us with? Lawren Harris, one of Canada’s Group of Seven, also was inspired by the beauty of Lake Superior and used it several times as a subject for his famous artwork. My favourite, for many years, is his North Shore Of Lake Superior.

It’s too bad that those at city hall can’t see the natural beauty of the Bay of Thunder.
