To the editor:
In regards to the highway twinning between Thunder Bay and Nipigon that the Liberals are saying is at risk, if elected I will push not for more twinning, but for clear rules on when roads need to be twinned (volume and safety) across the province, thus making it fair for all.
Also in areas where it cannot be justified by those reasons to ensure passing lanes exist as often as possible (a far cheaper option) thus allowing easy flow of traffic.
Between Thunder Bay and Fort Frances there are few areas you can pass and fewer that are truly safe.
If elected I'd push hard to get a few passing lanes put into that dangerous area as well as along 11/17.
That would be a far cheaper option that would improve safety in many more areas.
Greens are about doing the right thing, not the ‘this will get me votes’ thing.
