LETTER: Conservatory could be saved

To the editor: I am feeling quite concerned about the proposed closure of the Conservatory. I think how much money is being spent on the decor' at the waterfront and how those dollars could be bettered utilized to refurbish the conservatory.

To the editor:

I am feeling quite concerned about the proposed closure of the Conservatory. I think how much money is being spent on the decor' at the waterfront and how those dollars could be bettered utilized to refurbish the conservatory.

If the Conservatory was to open every day and charged a small admission, it would take care of itself, but who are we to comment, right? That place would be a therapeutic place to be for so many elderly people, why are we not utilizing it like that?

I am sure if we could open up the doors to people that are housebound and or elders who are able to go outdoors, they can be taken here for activities. This place is so therapeutic.

I remember taking my elderly mother there on depressing days, and a visit there cheered us both up. Wake up Thunder Bay, we are again going to lose another part of something beautiful in Thunder Bay. Decision-makers need to give their heads a shake. Remember what happened at Chippewa with all the campers? This is exactly what this reminds me of, excuses so that they don't have to repair it.
